2011–2014 Ford F-150 5.0L V8 (Gen 1 Coyote) | Note: 2021+ F-150 5.0L are belt-driven and require a different pump solution

1. MartenWear Heat Treatment:

MartenWear Dual-Stage Heat Treatment: The MartenWear process produces a martensitic surface structure on the gear faces — the hardest, most wear-resistant microstructure achievable in steel — while preserving a tough, impact-resistant core. Competing treatments produce harder surfaces that are also more brittle, or tougher cores with shallower case depth. MartenWear is engineered to hit both targets simultaneously. For a gear spinning at 9,000 RPM in a race engine generating significant heat and loading, this is the treatment that makes the difference between a pump that outlasts the engine and one that degrades over time.

2. Drag & High RPM (S2):

If the CM-S1-F150 is the race-proven baseline, the CM-S2-F150 is what you build toward when the baseline isn't enough. This is Boundary Pumps' full S2-tier treatment for the 2011–2014 Ford F-150 5.0L Coyote: every upgrade the company offers stacked into a single assembly: patented vane-ported billet gears, MartenWear heat treatment, and a billet steel back plate engineered for maximum flow at extreme RPM. Built for engines running 9,000 RPM or higher. Built for the applications that need every last advantage the oiling system can provide.

Boundary Race Oil Pump For Ford F-150
(2011-2014)

The Ford 5.0L Coyote V8 in your 2011–2014 F-150 is a strong engine. Push it hard enough, long enough, and at high enough RPM... the factory oil pump becomes the limiting factor between a reliable, oil-fed engine and a catastrophic failure you didn't see coming. Boundary Pumps' CM-S1-F150 Race Flow Billet Gear Pump Assembly is the fix. It's a complete, ready-to-install pump built around Boundary's race-proven billet gear set, remanufactured from an OEM Ford housing to a standard that the factory never intended and the strip absolutely demands.

Boundary Pumps does one thing: oil pumps. Everything they build comes out of their Royse City, Texas facility, machined in-house from US-sourced chromoly steel and assembled by hand to a degree of precision most manufacturers don't bother with. The CM-S1-F150 is their S1-tier pump for the Gen 1 Coyote F-150 - the baseline for race-built reliability that handles 9,000 RPM and has been proven at over 2,000 wheel horsepower.

What Makes Boundary Billet Gears Different

The stock oil pump gears are cast iron, adequate for a stock engine running stock RPM limits. Once you start adding power, raising the rev ceiling, or running a boosted application, cast gears become a liability. They flex under load, wear faster under high-speed conditions, and introduce inconsistency into your oil pressure curve exactly when you need it most. Boundary's billet chromoly gears solve all of it.

The process starts with chromoly billets that are quenched from extreme heat and then tempered to a tough, indestructible core. After CNC machining in matched inner and outer sets, Boundary applies their proprietary ColdFlow surface hardening process — then brings each gear to a mirror finish. The result is a gear set with tighter tolerances, harder surfaces, lower friction, and a pressure delivery curve that stays consistent past 9,000 RPM.

Key Features & Benefits

  • Boundary Race Flow Billet Gears — CNC machined from US-sourced chromoly steel, quenched, tempered, and ColdFlow surface hardened for an indestructible core with a mirror-polished contact surface

  • Inner and outer gears machined as matched sets — tighter tolerances than OEM for consistent volumetric efficiency and oil pressure stability across the RPM range

  • Race-inspired gerotor design — optimized for high-flow delivery and structural strength under sustained high-RPM operation

  • Proven to 9,000+ RPM and 2,000+ whp — not a claim, a documented performance threshold validated in competition

  • Complete pump assembly — OEM Ford housing fully disassembled, ultrasonically cleaned, air blasted, hand inspected, and hand de-burred before rebuild

  • Stainless Torx head fasteners replace stock hardware — torqued to spec with Loctite applied to prevent back-out or loosening under vibration

  • Anaerobic sealant applied to critical surfaces — boosts pump-up speed, reduces aeration, and ensures oil reaches critical surfaces faster on startup

  • Assembly lubricant on all critical surfaces — gets oil flowing immediately on first start, protecting your engine from the most wear-prone moment in any build

  • Blueprinted and shipped with a specification sheet — every unit documented before it leaves the facility

  • Backed by one of the industry's best warranties — Boundary stands behind every pump they build

The Assembly Process

Boundary doesn't just drop new gears into an OEM housing and call it done. Every CM-S1-F150 starts with a complete teardown of the OEM pump. Every internal surface is ultrasonically cleaned, air blasted, and hand-inspected for wear or damage. The housing is hand de-burred to eliminate any sharp edges or casting irregularities that could introduce turbulence or cause premature wear. The billet gears go in, the housing closes with stainless Torx hardware, and the entire assembly is torqued, sealed, and lubricated before being blueprinted to a specification sheet that ships with every unit.

This is the kind of attention to detail that most production parts never see. It's also why Boundary-built pumps survive conditions that destroy stock units — and why builders running serious power trust them.

Pump Add-on Options

The stock pump back plate is a casting, which is functional at factory specs, but a flow restriction under high-output conditions. Boundary's billet steel back plate is machined to tighter tolerances, eliminating casting irregularities from the pump's rear flow path. The tighter fit reduces internal bypass and increases volumetric efficiency, particularly at the RPM ranges where a built engine operates... and more oil gets to where it needs to go.

S1 vs S2 - which is right for you?

The S1 is the right choice for high-performance builds that push hard but stop short of all-out race territory: supercharged street/strip applications, track-day builds, drag radial setups in the 1,000–1,500 whp range.

The S2 is for builds where the engine configuration, RPM target, or power level demands every advantage the oiling system can offer — dedicated drag race builds, road course engines running sustained high RPM, and applications above 1,500 whp where oil system margin matters. If you're asking which one you need, talk to your engine builder. If your engine builder already knows which one they want, it's probably this one. If you're running a daily/street truck, this is overkill.

S2 Features:

  • Patented Black Series Vane Ported Gerotor — optimized port geometry for maximum volumetric flow, reduced parasitic drag, and superior high-RPM pressure delivery

  • MartenWear dual-stage heat treatment — proprietary martensitic surface hardening produces the deepest, hardest, most wear-resistant gear surface in the category; engineered for sustained extreme-RPM use

  • Billet Steel Back Plate (Anti-Cavitation Cover) — CNC machined to tighter tolerances than cast alternatives; reduces internal bypass and improves volumetric efficiency under high-output conditions

  • Mirror-finished chromoly billet gears — ColdFlow surface hardened, quenched and tempered core, inner and outer machined as matched sets

  • Complete teardown-and-rebuild assembly — ultrasonically cleaned, air blasted, hand inspected, hand de-burred, assembled to blueprinted specification

  • Stainless Torx fasteners with Loctite — torqued to spec, engineered to stay there under high-RPM vibration

  • Anaerobic sealant at critical joints — faster pump-up, reduced aeration, improved first-start oil delivery

  • Assembly lubricant on all critical contact surfaces — protects engine on first startup

  • Blueprinted and shipped with full specification sheet — documented and verified before leaving the facility

  • Built for 9,000+ RPM — designed from the ground up for engines running beyond the factory rev limit
